Accessibility

At Capel Manor Gardens we aim to create the best visitor experience for all. If you plan on visiting Capel Manor Gardens and have any special requirements please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to help you to get the best out of your visit.

Access and facilities

Most of our show gardens are on one level with step-free access. Pathways are mainly compacted gravel, tarmac or stone and are suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchair users. On wet days, some grass and earth paths may be unsuitable for mobility equipment. There are accessible toilet facilities across the estate.

Carers receive free entry to the Gardens when accompanied by a paying visitor who requires assistance. Please bring valid proof of carer status with you on the day of your visit. Acceptable documentation includes a registered carer’s card or an official supporting letter.

Wheelchair hire

You can loan wheelchairs for your visit. As we are a charity, we kindly request a £5 donation to use our wheelchairs. This helps us maintain them for our visitors to continue using them. We only have a limited amount available so please let us know in advance if you wish to reserve one in order to avoid disappointment. Please note that we no longer have mobility scooters available to hire.
