An invitation to reflect, connect and inspire change

Hands holding river water

A lecture on Gandhian Thought and Sustainability by Dr Prof Sankar Kumar Sanyal

Capel Manor College and Gardens is pleased to host a special guest event bringing together leaders, advocates and supporters for an inspiring morning of thought, discussion and connection.

On Monday 20 April, we are honoured to welcome Dr Prof Sankar Kumar Sanyal, President of Gandhi Ashram, Delhi, India, who will share insights into Gandhian philosophy and its powerful relevance to today’s global challenges, from environmental sustainability to social responsibility and ethical leadership.

Rooted in principles of non-violence, self-reliance and environmental balance, this event will explore how Gandhian thought continues to shape modern approaches to sustainability, community resilience and responsible living.

Alongside our keynote speaker, additional guest contributors will share perspectives on how these ideas can be applied across education, business and environmental practice, including Taz Khan MBE, a sustainability advocate and community champion who spearheads the Urban Farmer Project and leads a London-based team driving sustainable development and positive community impact.

This promises to be a thought-provoking and inspiring gathering, bringing together individuals who are passionate about creating positive change.

As London’s environmental college, Capel Manor is proud to champion green skills, sustainable practices and education that connects people with nature.

This event also offers an opportunity to learn more about the work of Capel Manor Gardens and how partnerships and collaborations can help us continue to grow, inspire and educate future generations.
