Capel Manor After Dark: Ghostly Tales and Historical Tour

Step into the shadows this Halloween and uncover the hidden, haunted history of Capel Manor Gardens. Join us for a one-night-only experience that brings the estate’s chilling past to life under the cover of twilight.

Led by an expert guide, this after-hours and adult-only event will take visitors through the torch-lit pathways of our 30-acre Gardens whilst unravelling Capel Manor’s ghoulish secrets. Not usually available to the public, the 17th century Manor House will open its doors with a private tour of the ground and first floors.

For the first time, ticket holders will have the opportunity to explore Capel Manor’s archives and view a theatrical re-telling of the estate’s rich history which dates back to the 13th century.

To end the evening, unwind with a glass of locally produced wine from our Forty Hall Vineyard, perfectly paired with nibbles.

This is a rare opportunity to uncover Capel Manor’s hidden stories with an expert guide, enjoying exclusive access to archives and footage never revealed to the public before.

Arrival
Enter via the main entrance and follow the directions for VIP parking in front of the Manor House (through the black gate, straight ahead). All tickets purchased together must arrive together. You can arrive anytime from 10am to enjoy the Gardens during the day, but please make your way to the front of the Manor House for 6pm.

Please ensure you have your ticket with QR Code ready to be scanned on the day to avoid delays. This can be either printed or downloaded in advance and displayed on your mobile phone device.

Parking
We have limited VIP parking spaces in front of the Manor House which are reserved for ticket holders of this event only. If full, you will be directed to the nearby Victorian Stables car park. Safety and Security This event is suitable for adults aged 18 and over. Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to take part. Our Gardens are set over 30 acres of uneven ground which may be muddy or slippery. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for the outdoor section of the tour. Be aware of uneven ground and open water features, particularly in the dark. You will be provided with a torch but you are welcome to bring your own. In the Manor House, there will be access to the upper floors via steep and uneven staircases. We advise you to take care and use the handrails available.

Accessibility
This event includes a tour of Capel Manor Gardens’ 30 acre estate, in the dark, across some grassy areas and uneven ground. Due to the listed nature of the Manor House and original staircases, there will be steep and uneven steps on both the ground and upper floors. Therefore, this event is not currently suitable for those with walking difficulties or for wheelchair users. For any questions relating to accessibility, please contact us directly.
