This October half-term we welcomed Over 4,500 visitors to our Gardens for a number of Halloween activities! As well as the return of our popular family Halloween-themed event and our ghostly gardens trail-only days, we also launched exclusive haunted history tours of the 17th century Georgian Manor House and twilight gardens tours for adults.

Throughout the half-term, children (and adults!) enjoyed our ghostly gardens trail where they embarked on a frightful journey, meeting Capel Manor’s former residents and discovering their tales. Children and parents could explore our 30-acre Gardens in beautiful autumn bloom with perfect photo opportunities across our estate.
At our Halloween Spooktacular, from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 October, there was plenty for everyone, from hair-raising haunted trails to pulse-pounding immersive experiences, live performances and spooky storytelling. Halloween has continued to be one of our most popular events of the year and delivered thrills, chills, and endless fun for all!
At the Showground, there was the chance to meet our spooky stilt walkers. The crowd and visitors were wowed with a daring fire show from High Voltage Events, which was a highlight of the event for many. Under the cover of our marquees, and back by popular demand in 2025, The Dread House delivered a chilling interactive experience where only the bravest dared to enter. For an additional fee, children were also able to try their hand at pumpkin carving, saving the trouble of creating a mess at home.
Indoors, families could get creative with a range of Halloween-themed crafts. No trip to the Gardens would be complete without visiting the residents of Capel Manor Gardens’ mini zoo. Fun and informative talks and feeding took place throughout the day. As a Halloween special, visitors were able meet and greet some of our creatures for petting and feeding.
If all of the above activities was not enough, for an optional additional fee, visitors could also enjoy a range of inflatables including a bouncy castle, inflatable slide, trampolines and a Halloween-themed bounce globe to keep children entertained. There was also face painting, a wide range of hot and cold food from the Café, a toastie and hot drinks stall, as well as our plant and gift shop.
Our remaining pumpkins were donated to the local charity Noah’s Ark, as well as Forty Hall Farm.

As one of our most popular and best-loved events, Capel Manor Gardens annual Halloween special will be returning next year. By popular demand, the event will take place across six days, from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October 2026. Packed with a wide range of thrilling indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family to enjoy, you would be screaming-mad to miss it!
New for this year, we invited adults curious about history and the paranormal to join us for exclusive daytime and evening tours of the Manor House. For the first time, ticket holders discovered the haunted history of Capel Manor with an expert guide and had access to never-before-seen archives. Due to overwhelming interest, we will be running regular history and ghost tours throughout the year – stay up to date with our upcoming events for more information and dates!
