Last week during October half-term, Capel Manor Gardens welcomed visitors for six days of Halloween fun, frights and unforgettable family memories at our much-loved Halloween Spooktacular!
Children enjoyed exploring our haunted garden trail, matching spooky characters to their mysterious homes. An additional activity sheet provided even more fun for little adventurers. Families also had the opportunity to explore our beautiful 30-acre Gardens, bursting with autumn colour and offering plenty of picture perfect photo opportunities across the estate.

There was something for everyone at this year’s event, from hair-raising haunted trails to pulse-pounding live acts and experiences. One of this year’s biggest attractions was immersive horror maze in the Manor House brought to you by The Dread House. They delivered a chilling interactive experience for brave visitors. With both spooky and scary options available, guests could choose their preferred level of fright! For the first time, we opened our 18th-century Georgian Manor House for Halloween which is not usually open to the public, adding an extra layer of atmosphere and excitement.

We also brought back our much-requested Halloween disco, complete with a live DJ, alongside spectacular aerial performances throughout the morning and afternoon which were new this year.
We introduced a new bouncy castle token for every child, giving families the chance to enjoy one of the many bouncy castle options available. Our pumpkin patch also received a fantastic makeover, and a pumpkin included in every child’s ticket. With an incredible selection of pumpkins and plenty of photo opportunities, it was the perfect place to capture some seasonal memories.

For those looking to get creative, pumpkin painting was also available for an additional fee, with pumpkin carving taking a well-deserved year off!
Indoors, families could get creative with a variety of creepy arts and crafts. No visit to Capel Manor Gardens would be complete without stopping by our much-loved Mini zoo, where visitors could meet our resident animals and enjoy fun, informative talks and feeding sessions throughout the day.

There was plenty more to enjoy across the estate, including face painting, a fantastic selection of hot and cold food from our Café, Burger Buzz and churros on selected days. Visitors could also browse our Plant and Gift Shop, which offered a range of seasonal treats, including Halloween-themed balloons.
Halloween continues to be one of our most popular and best-loved events of the year, and this year’s Spooktacular certainly delivered thrills, chills and endless family fun!
And the good news? Halloween Spooktacular will be returning next year!
We will taking feedback from this year’s visitors on board and we will be looking at how we can make next year’s event even bigger and better, with exciting new additions and a few twists along the way. So, keep your eyes peeled and watch this space!
With a fantastic mix of thrilling indoor experiences, outdoor adventures and activities for all ages, there’s something for every member of the family. You’d be screaming mad to miss it!
