This Easter, we welcomed hundreds of families to our Gardens for a fun-filled Easter Egg-Stravaganza which took place from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 March, 2024. Children took part in an Easter adventure, hunting down decorative eggs hidden around the estate to complete our Gardens trail activity and receive a chocolate treat.
Over at the Showground, there was the chance to meet the Easter bunny, enjoy a bubbleology show and learn circus skills. Under the cover of the marquee, the little ones were able to enjoy the hop around area which included bouncy hoppers, giant connect four and jumping sacks.
Indoors, families could get creative with a range of Easter-themed crafts including decorating pastel egg boxes to plant cress seeds to take home. No trip to the Gardens would be complete without visiting the residents of Capel Manor’s mini zoo. Fun and informative talks and feeding took place throughout the day. As an Easter treat, visitors were able meet and pet our bunnies and also play with our new lambs!
If exploring the 30-acre Gardens in beautiful spring bloom and all of the above activities was enough, for an optional additional fee, visitors could also enjoy the popular helter skelter and a large bouncy castle to keep children entertained. There was also face painting, a wide range of hot and cold food from the Gardens Café, as well as ice cream, food and snack stalls on the Showground. On Easter Sunday, in front of our 17th Century Georgian Manor House, visitors could find a special showcase of classic Morris Minors, offering a glimpse into the excitement awaiting you at our upcoming annual Classic and Vintage Car Show on Sunday 1 September 2024.
