Seasonal Information
Our Animal Experiences run seasonally.
Please note that Animal Experiences do not operate during the winter months, as we are closed at weekends over this period. As a result, they are currently unavailable.
We’re pleased to confirm that Animal Experiences will resume from Saturday 7 March 2026, when our weekend opening returns.
Reptile and insect experience
Go behind the scenes in our mini zoo as you get up close with some of our cold-blooded creatures including stick insects and lizards.
Furry companion experience
Experience interacting with a diverse range of species from guinea pigs, rabbits, rats, mice and hamsters to hedgehogs and chinchillas.
Alpaca walks experience
Alpacas are naturally inquisitive and gentle animals. Alpaca walking is great fun and a fantastic experience for all animal-lovers.
Pygmy goat experience
Your chance to get up close to this popular, cheeky animal; the pygmy goats are favourites amongst our visitors and zoo keepers.
Gardens tours
Guided tours are available daily by arrangement. We offer tailored gardens’ tours for private groups which include highlights of the Gardens.
